High protein, low-calorie vegan Tartar sauce with tofu and Capers
This high protein, low-calorie vegan Tartar sauce with tofu and Capers is creamy and full of flavors without the excess calories of a classical Tartar sauce
Add the tofu (crumble it into smaller pieces with your hands), capers brine, Dijon mustard, olive oil, and salt into the food processor and blend till smooth and creamy (aprox 5 minutes or more depending on the power of your food processor)
Add the minced onion, garlic, and minced capers to the food processor and mix gently with a spatula till well combined (do not blend just mix and combine them with a spatula or spoon). Alternatively, you can use a bowl for this last step but I prefer to use the bowl of the food processor to avoid having an extra dish to wash
Add the mixture into an airtight glass container and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours so that the ingredients have time to combine and give you the extra burst of flavors
Enjoy
Notes
This high-protein, low-calorie vegan Tartar sauce combines great with almost every dish that uses Tartar sauce as an ingredient. I love to combine it with potato wedges, corn, and chickpeas or add it as dressing to salads for an extra burst of flavor.
