the healthiest ever vegan salted caramel sauce

If you like salted caramel sauce as much as I do you will love this vegan salted caramel recipe.

It has just three ingredients, no butter, requires no cooking, and is ready in less than 1 minute. Isn't this just too good to be true? Well it is that is why you need to try it to believe me. 😍

When I decided to switch to a vegan lifestyle I thought I would have to say goodbye to this delicious sweet treat but honestly, with this yummy vegan salted caramel sauce this is not needed and bonus, it's probably the healthiest ever vegan salted caramel sauce I will eat.

Although a healthier source of fat than butter, tahini is still a fat so as doctors like to say it, consume this deliciousness in moderation 😁.

Why you are going to love this vegan salted caramel sauce recipe

  • It uses tahini as fat instead of butter. Unlike butter tahini is relatively low in calories but high in fiber, protein, and an assortment of important vitamins and minerals.
  • Requires no cooking.
  • Ready in less than 1 minutes.
  • Is vegan. 😁

List of ingredients for the healthiest ever vegan salted caramel sauce

  • 2 tbsp Maple syrup (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp Tahini (room temperature preferably a runny version)
  • ΒΌ tsp Salt

Guidelines

  1. Add the maple syrup to a small bowl together with tahini and salt
  2. Mix all the ingredients till well combined

For best results I highly recommend using room temperature tahini and maple syrup and if available a more runny tahini. If ingredients are cold will take you more time to fully combined them and you might have to gentle warm-up the the mixture for a perfect blend.

Enjoy combined with your favorite dessert.

I like mine with a refreshing plain vegan yogurt, to treat myself with a homemade cappuccino caramel from time to time or as topping for popcorn.

Questions you might have

Can I use different sweetener instead of maple syrup?

I would not recommend as other sweeteners do not have the distinctive caramel and toffee flavor hints maple syrup has.

Does the tahini flavor overpower the caramel taste?

The tahini adds a unique nutty undertone, but it does not overpower the caramel flavor. The combination with maple syrup creates a balanced and rich caramel taste.

Can I make this sauce ahead of time?

Absolutely! This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Just give it a good stir or gentle warm-up before serving.

What are some serving suggestions for this sauce?

This sauce is versatile and can be used as a topping for ice cream, pancakes, waffles, fruit, yogurt, or as a dip for apples.
